Welcome to Irish Fest!

Iowa Irish Fest is dedicated to celebrating Irish culture in Iowa, takes place in the Lincoln Park area of downtown Waterloo, and is held annually during the first full weekend of August.

COVID-19

The Iowa Irish Fest committee is working hard on planning for this year’s fest. We continue to monitor and receive communication from our local governments regarding safety, cleanliness, hand washing, social distancing, crowd gatherings, and how best to proceed with events like the Iowa Irish Fest.

Planning for the fest goes year round so many plans are already in place. All bands and entertainment are booked and excited to return to downtown Waterloo. Vendors are continuing to sign up. Cultural workshops are planned and many volunteer shifts are open. Watch for the Shamrock N Run 5K, High Nelly Bicycle Ride, and Celtic Cruise events registration to open soon. The Family Fun and Learning Area will have new games, educational experiences, and great things planned for everyone.

Our plans are the show must go on! Of course, if our community should happen to still be locked down by mid-July, we will take the necessary steps to comply with the Black Hawk County Health Department guidelines to ensure the safety and health of our guests. In the meantime, mark your calendar for July 31-August 2 for the 14th Annual Iowa Irish Fest!

ENTERTAINMENT
World Class Family Fun

Music, Dance, and Good Times for all. The 2019 Iowa Irish Fest offers 55 performances from 22 different groups.  This incredible variety of world-class entertainment, each offering multiple performances, can only be found in downtown Waterloo during the first weekend in August!  When these individuals and groups are not on stage, they are often found among the crowd, interacting with fest-goers, leading educational sessions, and enjoying the talent of their fellow artists.

Please Note If you plan on setting up lawn chairs at the fest, we ask that you do not leave them over night. Unattended Chairs will be collected and placed at the lost and found each night at fest close.

ACTIVITIES
Fun for All Ages

The Iowa Irish Fest offers not only fabulous music performances, but a variety of other events designed to immerse fest-goers in Irish culture and history.  Interactive activities include dancing, language instruction, playing Irish instruments, and leaning about the rich history of the Irish.  All activities are family-friendly!
