Cara is the official “Friends of the Iowa Irish Fest” group. Cara supports the Iowa Irish Cultural Association’s goal to celebrate and develop Irish fellowship and outreach in our community.

CARA’s Annual St. Practices Day- Saturday, February 15th starting at 4 PM.

In prep for St. Patrick’s Day, we are chartering a party bus to take us around to some of our favorite establishments for a 5+hour pub crawl.
During our “tour” we will laugh, sing, imbibe in our beverages of choice. and maybe even create some good old fashioned Irish mischief.
The fun begins at 4:00 on Saturday, February 15 when we meet at Jameson’s Public House. The bus will arrive at 4:45 and we will be on our way to visit 5 other bars.
Costs will be approximately $25 for CARA members, $30 for non-members.

We’re Going to Kansas City…Kansas City here we come!- Saturday, August 30th to Sunday, August 31st

Will you join us as we make our way to the Kansas City Irish Fest over Labor Day Weekend 2025 – Saturday August 30 to Sunday August 31.Estimated costs: We will need to fill a 48 or 56 passenger bus to make the trip feasible. Costs will be dependent on which bus we fill.Bus Ride & Motel Room are included: CARA members. Non-CARA members add $25.00 to costs.· Double occupancy motel room and 56 passenger bus – $200/48 passenger bus – $210· Single occupancy motel room and 56 passenger bus – $388/48 passenger bus – $298
Our informational meeting will be on Thursday, January 30, 5:30 at the IIF headquarters on Franklin. We will fill you in on the details we have to date and collect a non-refundable deposit for the trip.
